Jikiden Reiki is valued for its tradition and authenticity.  It retains the grounding, simplicity, and depth of the original teachings.
People love the customised approach of a Jikiden Reiki treatment.

Jikiden is a Japanese word meaning directly taught, or
as my teacher taught me.

The Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, manages and supports the teaching and practice of traditional Japanese Reiki around the world. The history of how Reiki developed and spread is fascinating and is a favourite part of the curriculum when students are learning Jikiden Reiki.

Reiki was founded in the 1920's in Japan by Mikao Usui and was then taken to Hawaii, America and the rest of the world. It is natural that in different cultures Reiki should have spread in different ways. In some instances, the changes were profound moving away from the Reiki developed and taught by Usui Sensei and it seemed that traditional Japanese Reiki had not survived. Fortunately that was not the case and much of the original Reiki teachings were found with Chiyoko Yamaguchi in Japan,  so that today you can learn Reiki in a very similar way to how students learnt in Japan in the 1930's.

This is a very brief explanation of what Jikiden Reiki is and why you hear various names for differing styles of Reiki today. If you want the full story please join a Jikiden Reiki training course with me this Autumn!
